City of Thun with castle
The downtown area in Thun is on an island formed by the water coming out of the lake (Thunersee). As we looked north from the island, we see the castle of Thun on the hill. There are little covered bridges crossing the river (Aare), and openable dams beneath the bridge to control the water level in the lake.
